I had a crash a week ago and need to replace my helmet. I use an LAS and it seriously saved my life as I know it during this tumble. I'm tempted to replace it with another LAS, but would like some feedback before I buy. Brian is using the new Louis Graneau and seems to really like it. Feeback? What are you wearing to protect your brain?

I use Lazer helmets. They are very light, the Rollsys fit system is awesome! All the internal pads are replaceable.

I use the Genesis both for road and mountain bike, although I may switch to the new Nirvana MTB helmet for the mountain bike this summer. I cracked two helmets last year both on the mountain bike. The first one I somehow was catapulted in front of my bike and the bike came down on the back of my helmet with what appears to be the chain ring hitting me and splitting part of the helmet. That would have not been a good injury. I walked away from that one with bruises and scrapes, chuckling a bit sort of wishing my wreck was caught on camera because it was a really stupid fall. The second helmet was damaged doing an endo on some wet rocks. I got a friction burn on my forehead. That sucked because it looked like a big hickey! The helmet was slightly deformed so I replaced it.

I'm not sure it is advertised by Lazer, but I was able to get replacement helmets for my broken ones at a 50% discount (I think it was 50%, don't quote me). It was definitely not full price.

The only downside I have found is it is hard to put eye wear up on the helmet when you want to take them off. I've tried and ended up riding over the top of a new pair of Oakley's so now I just stuff them in my pocket if I need to take them off.
