Are you ready to suffer?

If you are, David McQuillen has put together a big batch of training whoop-ass, sure to help you become a more competitive cyclist for this Spring season.

No one loves winter training and if they claim otherwise, I’d say you’re talking to a big fibber!  The Sufferest is a downloadable video training series, which chooses to embrace this pain and set it to a vicious beat.

There are many videos on the market today to help motivate the rider to stay on their turbo training while the mind wanders through the pretty scenery.  The Sufferfest series takes a very different approach.

The creator, David McQuillen brought the product to life as many entrepreneurs do…because he wanted something that didn’t exist.  What was that? To race against the pros.  Think about that for a moment.  Get on your trainer and race against Thor Husvold or Tom Boonen?  Yes.

David began stitching together YouTube videos of Tour footage and setting the visual mash-ups to his favorite music.  His only mistake was to upload the new videos back on YouTube.  Copyright holders were unhappy.  Rather than give up, McQuillen approached the ASO (owners of the Tour de France and other major races) and pitched the idea of creating these video products under license.  A few confused faces later, he had his licensing deal!

Now, for the small price of $9.49 each you can download “The Downward Spiral” and “Fight Club”.  Both videos include standard resolution video of the Paris-Roubaix and Fleche-Wallone pro races and fantastic mixes of rock and techno music (also licensed).

Not only is The Sufferfest one of the most engaging visual treats for the trainer, it really kicks your tail.  Ready to suffer? Your pro racing experience is just a download away.

* David McQuillen’s interview will be featured on an upcoming episode of The VeloReviews Cycling Podcast

One of the most entertaining purchases I have ever made over the web. Good riding, great sense of humor.

Hi - Is anyone having luck getting both video's for $9.49, or am I misreading the paragraph above?

Hi Jared,

That is my fault. That is the price for each video. I have edited my mistake. Thank you for attention to detail!

And suffer you will...
My trainer is a Tacx iMagic. Has anyone out there put together a Catalyst program for the Downward Spiral? It takes the guesswork out of it when the trainer automatically follows the video.

Bought both videos this weekend off the strength of the review and interview on the VR podcast and am not disappointed in the slightest. Did the Downward Spiral this morning and thought it was absolutely fantastic. 60 minutes on the trainer NEVER went by faster.

Glad to hear it! I did 30 minutes in front of The Downward Spiral, myself this morning. It amazing how your mind (I'm sitting in from of a big screen), will actually allow you to think you're chasing down Boonen!
